On Saturday, Dec 17, 2016, law enforcement professionals from across King County, the Washington State Troopers, and even the US Marshals Service banded together to take almost 100 financially disadvantaged kids shopping for Christmas presents.
This annual Shop With A Cop spree is one of the largest such events in the state, and was organized by the Woodinville Police Department and supported by Woodinville Fire & Rescue, the Woodinville Firefighters Benevolent Fund, the city’s chamber of commerce and the local school district.
A special shoutout to Woodinville Costo for making sure that every one of the families that showed up went home with a frozen turkey for the holidays.
Thanks also to the people who came to Target for their own Christmas shopping, saw what we were trying to do for these kids, and spontaneously donated more than $200 in Target gift cards that went to the budget.
We thank the Woodinville Police Department for the opportunity to be a part of this special occasion, and thank every one who helped make this event possible!
