In the 2013 and 2014, the Firefighters Benevolent Funds for Woodinville and Bothell, WA, have helped to:
- Coordinate a food drive that raised over 3,000 pounds of food for Food Lifeline.
- Pay for pre-school tuition for a boy who lost his father due to a tragedy.
- Purchase and install hot water heaters for two elderly families with limited, fixed incomes.
- Provide financial assistance to multiple families struggling due to medical conditions.
- Assist with funeral costs for several families of fire fighters who passed away.
- Provide financial assistance to other fire fighters suffering from severe medical conditions.
- Provide financial aid to multiple families who lost their homes due to fire or water damage.
- Provide food and traveling expenses to several homeless individuals.
- Take children from low income families shopping for the holidays.
- Provide Vials of Life free to the community.
- Sponsor two showing of the anti-bullying film, “Finding Kind.”
- Provide coats to low income elementary school students.
- Support the fire and police chaplain programs.
- Support several non-profits including:
- the Muscular Dystrophy Association
- the American Cancer Society
- The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society
- the Little Bit Riding Club
- Project Linus
- the American Brain Tumor Association
- the NW Burn Foundation
- Woodinville Fire Explorer Scouts
- projects such as AIDS education to elementary school students, Bright Side of the Road, and Charity Water.
In 2015, we are looking to expand our activities by helping more people be safe through emailed and online education programs.
